Testimonials

Not only were they the best racing experience I’ve ever done they were also the least expensive!  You can’t go wrong with Seat Time.

James M.

I’ve driven with the other two driving experiences,  Seat Time’s cars are the fastest and their instructors and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable.

Robert R.

I’ve been to all the racing experiences and Seat Time was by far the best.

FAQ

You will pick an event date and track.  You will register via seattimeracingexperience.com or call 704 998 1957.  Once you have registered you will receive an email with all the info you need including checkin time and where to go once you arrive at the track.

There are two different scenarios which depend on what type of driving package you purchase.  If a solo package is purchased you will be given a check in time at the track’s Media Center which is approximately 1.5 hours before the event start time.  After check in there will be a 1 hour long classroom. Following the classroom you will be directed to pit road.  Once you arrive on pit road you will be provided a driving suit and if you purchased a video you will receive your recording chip.  Just prior to your driving time you will be outfitted with a helmet and a head and neck restraint.

If you purchased a non solo driving package or a ride along you will  request or be given a check in time which will typically be at least 3 hours after our scheduled start time.   For check in you will report to the Seat Time trailer located on pit road and will be given a driving suit and a video chip if applicable.  Immediately prior to you getting in the car you will be outfitted with a helmet and a neck restraint.

All of our race cars and trucks come directly from the race teams and are retired NASCAR race vehicles which have been used in competition. They have 400+ horsepower engines

Alcohol is not allowed on speedway property on our event days.  The consumption or possession  of alcohol will bar the offender and possibly members of their party from any and all on track activities.

Yes, we encourage you to bring as many friends and family as you wish.  They will be with you the entire time except for when you are actually in the car.  Friends and family are welcome to attend the classroom as well.

If it rains or there is a threat of rain you can reschedule for another event date.

This occurs quite frequently and has never been an issue  We will give the participant operating instructions and push them off to help them get going.  Then the participant will shift from 1st gear to 4th gear and will not have to change gears again until they bump it into neutral as they’re coming down pit road at the conclusion of their run.

We have several cars setup for larger people.  Someone not able to drive due to size is very rare.  If this does occur we will offer the participant a Hot Lap ride along and refund the remaining balance.  If the participant is too large to ride or drive or can not fit thru the window opening due to physical limitations we will offer a full refund.

We don’t exaggerate speeds like our competitors do.  Our cars and trucks have a 6,000 rpm rev limiter.  Paired with a 3.18 rear gear at Charlotte and Atlanta this equates to just over 160mph, with Bristol’s 4.11 rear end gear this equates to 115mph and at Rockingham we use a 3.64 gear which gives a top speed right at 140mph. Driving a race car at these speeds is NOT as easy as it looks on TV.  It takes 100% concentration and a lot of common sense.  Your level of car control, adherence to the racing line we teach you, and interactions with other cars on the track determine how fast you are allowed to go.  An average participant reaches 120-140mph at the larger tracks and 80-100mph at Bristol.  Do not worry about how fast you can go.  Worry about executing the fundamental techniques of circle track racing and car control that we will teach you.  The speeds you run will have a direct correlation to how well you execute these techniques.

Yes.  For solo drivers, a large portion of the classroom is dedicated to the rules of when it is appropriate to pass a slower car.  For non-solo drivers, your instructor in the car will let you know when to pass via verbal instruction and/or hand signal.

Yes, you may,  but you must have your own head and neck restraint.  If not, you will have to use our helmet and head and neck restraint device.
